Importance of NAVRATRI / Dussehra

As we all know, Navratri started Today, Which will run for Ten Days. Which is the First Big Fastival for Hindis in a Year.
It Displays meaning of the "NavRatri", Nav Mean Nine and Ratri means Night and tenth day so called "Vijayadashami".

These nine nights are related to Goddness "DURGA" with their nine Avatar, Which are Shailputri Mata, Brahmacharini Mata, Chandraghanta Mata, Skandamata, Katyayani Mata, Kalaratri Mata, Mahagouri Mata, Siddhidatri Mata respectively. And Tenth day of this fastival is called "Vijayadashami".



Godness Durga is a form of Shakti. Here 3 main form of Shakti - Mahakali, Maha Saraswati and Mahalaxmi are evolved from Lord Shiva, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu Respectively. Acc. to them Navaratri is divided into sets of 3 days :
       First three days of Navratri are dedicated to Goddess Durga (Warrior Goddess, Kali) dressed in red and mounted on a lion.
       Next three days are dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity), dressed in gold and mounted on an owl.
       Last three are dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (Goddess Of Knowledge), dressed in milky white and mounted on a pure white swan.

And Reason For Vijayadashami is the victory of good (Ram) over evil(Ravan) forces.

An another reson for this fastival, Maa Durga Taken Avatar to kill a demon Called Mahishasura.

Mahashtami or Durgashmi and MahaNavani are big days in Durgapuja.

For these nine days, Different part of Indian undergo rigorous fasts. And on Ninth day Kanya Puja is performed with nine young Girls. and In North India, on tenth day they play Rama-lila and burn the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghanada.

In South-India they celebrate  "Ayudha Puja" on MahaNavami,  In which Weapons, agricultural implements, all kinds of tools, equipments, machinery and automobiles are decorated and worshipped on this day along with the worship of Goddess.

In Gujrat they play Garba for last two days of this festival.

Or I can also say that "Almost every part of the country has its own specific way of celebrating the victory of good over evil".

In this fastival, We calebrate  : "Victory of the Good against Evil."
It shows us that evil can never win against good, So we have to kill Evil, Darkness, fear and all bad things from inside US and live life with Positive atitide.
